About us
The VKP (Association of KLM Professionals) represents the interests of everyone who works or has worked at KLM and falls under the collective labor agreement (CLA) for KLM ground staff. VKP is completely independent from KLM.
In short: what does VKP do?
Whether you’re a new or experienced KLM professional, VKP puts your interests first. We believe you should have the opportunity to keep developing yourself. That you go to work with motivation, in good working conditions, with safety and security. We believe you deserve recognition and appreciation for the work you do as a KLM employee.
At VKP, we care deeply about these matters.

How do we achieve this?
- VKP engages in collective (CLA) negotiations with KLM on behalf of its members.
- Facing a work-related conflict or another issue? VKP offers advice, support, and mediation.
- We believe in open communication: VKP keeps its members informed about current events and relevant topics. We’re open and transparent about what we do and what drives us.
- Through our participation in KLM’s Works Council (OR), Division Councils, and Group Committees (GCs), we ensure that our voice and therefore yours is heard.
But negotiation and mediation are not all we do. VKP is also your sparring partner when it comes to discussing your career development opportunities within KLM. Maybe there’s something at work that’s been bothering you and you never realized that VKP could help with that too. Click here for a full overvieuw of VKP’s activities.
Since 1969, VKP has been officially recognized by KLM.
Our association is structured as follows:
• Executive Board
• Advisory Committee
• Advisory Council (OR and GC)
• Working Groups / Committees
What is VKP affiliated with?
VKP is affiliated with the national trade union federation VCP (Trade Union Federation for Professionals), which represents over 50 member organizations from sectors such as government, healthcare and law enforcement.
Through the VCP, VKP offers a platform for professionals to connect and collaborate.
The VCP also holds a seat in the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER). The SER is an advisory body that provides the Dutch government with guidance on social and economic policy
E4FC (Europeans for Fair Competition)
At the end of 2021, VKP joined Europeans for Fair Competition (www.E4FC.eu). E4FC is a coalition of European airlines and employee organizations.
E4FC advocates for fair competition and high social standards in the international aviation market. Its goal is to safeguard the interests of the European aviation industry and with it, our jobs. KLM is also a member of E4FC, as are the VNV (Dutch Airline Pilots Association) and VNC (Dutch Cabin Crew Union).
European airlines play a crucial role in directly connecting Europe, while the affiliated employee organizations represent the aviation professionals behind these operations.
This connectivity and the high-quality aviation jobs it supports are at risk if the European Commission fails to implement the right policies
Sustainable growth and connectivity go hand in hand with successful airlines and motivated aviation professionals.
